Owls call and bats circle around the tower of Spooky Hill when Kugelblitz and his nephew Martin arrive at the Scottish castle. Disguised as tourists, they want to track down a hereditary creep on behalf of Lady Laura Lemon. The famous commissioner from Hamburg begins his investigation in the Scottish highlands: he investigates in the environment of the late lord: with butler Moses, Father Donelly, the horse girl Ann, the doctor Dr. Serafin and the cook Bessie in the pub "Lean Grouse". The matter becomes more and more mysterious and dangerous and then the secret cabinet in the old library becomes almost a deadly trap...
